Alarm System
The alarm systems in the NFF (CWB) are designed to give an audio and visual alarm in the event of a dangerous gas leakage. Once an alarm is triggered, users should immediately notify our staff and evacuate the laboratory if necessary. The following alarm systems with different functions can be found in NFF (CWB) Phase II.
1. DG Leakage Alarm System
The Dangerous Gas (DG) Leakage Alarm System is set up in NFF (CWB) Phase II to warn of any toxic gas leakage from the equipment or from the dangerous gas storeroom. There are six repeater alarm panels installed in different areas of the laboratory. If one of the panels triggers an alarm, users must follow the evacuation procedure to leave the laboratory immediately.
2. HF Waste Collection Tank Alarm System
The HF (hydrofluoric) waste collection tank alarm system is located between wet stations D and E in NFF (CWB) Phase II. As soon as the level of HF waste in the tank rises above a certain level, the buzzer and the alarm light will be triggered. When that happens, users must report to our staff immediately.
3. Exhaust Failure Alarm Panel
The exhaust failure alarm panel is located between wet stations D and E in NFF (CWB) Phase II. As soon as a failure in any of the exhaust systems is detected, the buzzer and alarm light will be triggered and users must report to our staff.
4. DI Water and Neutralization Alarm System
The DI water and neutralization alarm system is located between wet stations D and E in NFF (CWB) Phase II. The system can trigger a number of different alarms.
DI water system alarms:
- DI water tank high level
- DI water tank low level
- System fault
Neutralization system alarms:
- Buffer tank high level
- Neutralization tank high level
- System fault
If any of the alarms is triggered, users must report to our staff.
